Raynav 300 GPS/Plotter
Compact GPS receiver and
plotter with WASS Satellite Differential GPS
Johnson
Electronics Price $ 585
Positioning Raytheon in
the forefront of marine navigation, the new Raynav 300 is a GPS
plotter for the 21st century. Aesthetically designed to co-ordinate
and interface with Raytheon’s on board system equipment, this clever
unit provides positioning accuracy and reliablity with classic
Raytheon ease of use.
The Raynav 300 is
supplied with a built in receiver capable of receiving augmented GPS
WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) satellite differential signals.
WAAS is an integrated system of ground based reference stations and
geo stationary statellites broadcasting precision differential GPS
corrections to WAAS enabled GPS receivers.
WAAS signals give
position fixes accurate to 2.5m within a coverage area including the
complete United States from longitude 165 degrees East to 45 degrees
West with the repeatability of the Loran system.
Similar to WAAS the
European community is developing a GPS Augmentation system named EGNOS
( European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) which will extend
the coverage area to include the European continent.
